Azurite, Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Santa Cruz Municipality, Sonora, Mexico

$0.00
Sold Out

Size: 3.6x2.8x2.0

Species: Azurite partially pseudomorphing to malachite

Locality: Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Santa Cruz Municipality, Sonora, Mexico

Description: A sharp intergrown cluster of euhedral lustrous electric blue azurite crystals dotted with sprays of chatoyant velvet malachite. The largest crystal measures 2.1cm on edge. Very good quality for what I consider a bargain price. The specimens from the milpillas mine redefined the international standards for what quality azurite specimens could reach. The mine is done producing azurite specimens and nothing of significance has come out in the last several years since the oxide zone was mined through.
