Description: Gemmy red rhodochrosite crystals up to 1.2cm are bedded in sparkling sprays of translucent quartz crystals up to 2.2cm. The rhodochrosites have an excellent red color and good luster. The rhodochrosite crystals are in fantastic condition with razor sharp edges and corners. When examined closely striated lustrous black blades of hubernite are seen scattered among the quartz crystals. An absolute USA classic! It is becoming very hard to find specimens even close to this quality from the Sweet Home Mine since it has been shut down since 2004. This was the finest specimen from the collection of Ronald Harvey a dedicated Colorado collector who focused exclusively on rhodochrosite specimens.
